Baggage Allowance and Excess Baggage

Baggage allowance is 40lbs per person, including one (1) carry-on or carry-out piece. Excess baggage charges will apply for overweight baggage and space is subject to availability. Animals including dogs and cats are permitted to travel on some scheduled service, please call North Star Air Reservations at 1.844.633.6294 for more details. Service or companion animals are permitted onboard North Star Air aircraft. Please inform a North Star Air representative at least 48 hours prior to departure if you plan on travelling with one.   Helpful tip - your first baggage should contain your immediate essentials or your must haves.  

Carry-on Baggage

Carry-on baggage on the Pilatus PC-12 aircraft are not permitted due to Transport Canada regulations, however carry-on baggage on our Cessna Grand Caravan aircraft is permitted. Please carry your valuable, baby food/milk, snacks and medications on the person. 

Baggage Information

At North Star Air we work hard to ensure your baggage always arrives as planned. Sometimes, despite our best efforts, baggage can be delayed or damaged.  North Star Air will not be responsible for any damage of baggage due to force majeure, damage due to items or objects inside the passenger's baggage and not responsible for damage of fragile, perishable items, money, jewelry, or any valuable documents and items in the checked baggage. North Star Air will not be responsible for compensating any damage that is discovered after you have claimed your baggage with North Star Air. Maximum liability per person, per ticket regarding lost or damaged baggage is $100. Please call to report any loss or damage within 24 hours upon arriving to your final destination.

Dangerous Goods

Dangerous Goods are articles or substances that are capable of posing a risk to health, safety, property or the environment.

Articles and substances that are classified as dangerous goods, except those which are forbidden for transport by air, must be shipped as cargo under special packing requirements and handling procedures. However, some articles/substances may be accepted as carry-on or checked baggage
